Post-Purchase Referral

Post-purchase referral incentives customers to share a referral link with their friends and family. Two-sided incentive motivates your referring customer more because they are also rewarded a discount by sharing a link.

An activated referral widget is positioned on the order status page, where customers are offered to share the link. They can be shared via apps on the customer’s device or copied and shared like that. 

One-sided incentive

This allows customers to share your shop with their friends and family with ease. By offering discounts you’ve previously set in Referral Settings, people that received a referral link are more likely to come to your shop and become new customers.

The discount code applies to all customers that reach your shop through a referral link.

Widget settings

  • Primary colour – choose the colour for the background. The text will automatically change to black or white to create the best visibility combination
  • Friend discount – referred customers discount amount offered in percentage or fixed amount
  • Minimum purchase amount – set the minimum purchases needed to use the discount

Text Customization

  • Subtitletext in bold positioned under the title
  • Content – here you can write a text that asks a customer to share a discount with their friends and family and explains how it works. Placed under the subtitle
  • Button caption – short call to action on the button itself

To include the amount of referred customers discount use [friend_discount]

Two-sided incentive

Motivates the referring customer to share your shop because they also get a discount in return.

Referring customers’ discount is activated once somebody has fulfilled the whole purchasing process through their link and can be used for their future purchases.

Every time someone uses their referring link a referring customer gets a fixed amount of reward. These rewards stack on one another and referring customer can choose when to redeem the reward. After they redeem the reward and their link is used again they start collecting reward all over again.

The total amount has to be used up all in once and cannot be split in more than one purchase. The purchase again has to be over the minimum you’ve set (if you’ve set any).

When the referring customers link is used they are notified with an email containing a link to their reward balance. On this link they can also redeem their reward.

Referral settings allow you to set the amount and rules for the program but also to customize its look:

Widget settings

  • Minimum purchase amount – a) the minimal amount needed for new customer using the link to purchase, for referring customer to get a reward
    b) the minimal amount referring customer has to purchase to redeem the reward
  • Referring customer reward – set the amount that you want to reward the referring customer every time someone uses their link

  • Friend discount title – the line where friend’s discount is shown
  • Referring customers’ reward – shows how much is referring customer rewarded
  • Subtitle – text on bold positioned under the title
  • Content – here you can write a text that asks a customer to share a discount with their friends and family and explains how it works. Placed under the subtitle
  • Button caption – short call to action on the button itself

Quota

Every time someone uses the referring link the quota is counted. Note that this quota is separate from email quota.
