An activated referral widget is positioned on the order status page, where customers are offered to share the link. They can be shared via apps on the customer’s device or copied and shared like that. 

One-sided incentive

This allows customers to share your shop with their friends and family with ease. By offering discounts you’ve previously set in Referral Settings, people that received a referral link are more likely to come to your shop and become new customers.

The discount code applies to all customers that reach your shop through a referral link.

Widget settings

• Primary colour – choose the colour for the background. The text will automatically change to black or white to create the best visibility combination
• Friend discount – referred customers discount amount offered in percentage or fixed amount
• Minimum purchase amount – set the minimum purchases needed to use the discount

Text Customization

• Subtitle – text in bold positioned under the title
• Content – here you can write a text that asks a customer to share a discount with their friends and family and explains how it works. Placed under the subtitle
• Button caption – short call to action on the button itself

To include the amount of referred customers discount use [friend_discount]

Two-sided incentive

Motivates the referring customer to share your shop because they also get a discount in return.

Referring customers’ discount is activated once somebody has fulfilled the whole purchasing process through their link and can be used for their future purchases.

Every time someone uses their referring link a referring customer gets a fixed amount of reward. These rewards stack on one another and referring customer can choose when to redeem the reward. After they redeem the reward and their link is used again they start collecting reward all over again.

The total amount has to be used up all in once and cannot be split in more than one purchase. The purchase again has to be over the minimum you’ve set (if you’ve set any).

When the referring customers link is used they are notified with an email containing a link to their reward balance. On this link they can also redeem their reward.

Referral settings allow you to set the amount and rules for the program but also to customize its look:

Quota

Every time someone uses the referring link the quota is counted. Note that this quota is separate from email quota.

There are two different types of discount codes you can offer. One being a unique code for that specific customer which cannot be shared with others. Another type is a single code that can be used by any customer that fulfills certain requirements. These requirements can be defined within Shopify.

Monimo discounts are offered only to customers that have submitted a photo review. Discount will not be provided for a text-only review.

Unique code

For every customer submitting a photo review Monimo generates a new code.

In your Shopify Discount Menu all discount that you previously set the amount for will be presented in the following way: 

You can set these codes for customers that wrote a review through review request only or to give them to customers that wrote reviews directly in your shop as well.

Expiration date for discounts – set for how long will your discounts be able for use after the customer receives it. Choose the length in the drop-down menu. 

One Code for all customers

Creating this code through Shopify allows you to set requirements for customers to be able to use it. The requirements can be a minimal amount purchase limit or allowing the discount to be solely used on certain items.

To make this type of discount do the following:

1. Head over to Shopify Discounts menu
2. Select ‘Create Discount’
3. Set the rules for your discount
4. Click on ‘Save Discount’
5. Fill in the discount details in ‘Collect reviews’, ‘Discount Settings’ under Settings
6. Click ‘Validate’
   

Discount Reminder Emails

Customers are reminded about their discounts with email that Monimo sends containing a link to your shop to redeem it.

Emails are scheduled to be sent 5 days after the customer has received a discount.

In case discounts have expiration dates, email will be sent 5 days before it.

In Translation/Emails you can change the content of these emails.
